Ekiti CNPP lauds Oyebanji’s on state Council dissolution

The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP), Ekiti State Chapter, has welcomed the dissolution of the State Executive Council by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
The CNPP described the move as “very timely and a welcome development”.
This was contained in a release jointly signed by the group Chairman and Secretary respectively, Pastor Victor Akinola and Lawrence Ajayi, made available to Irohinodua on Tuesday.
According to the CNPP, the dissolution will enable the Governor to assess the performance of various sectors under his six-pillar agenda and inject fresh ideas into the government structure.
CNPP stated, “The dissolution gives the Governor an opportunity for reflection on the effect of the programmes and policies of his administration on the populace.”
The Conference also noted that the dissolution would allow former cabinet members with political ambitions to pursue their goals without conflicts of interest.
“We believe that this dissolution gives the Governor an opportunity to take stock of the performances in every sector within the purview of the six-pillar agenda of the Administration,” the letter read.
The CNPP urged Governor Oyebanji to appoint tested and competent individuals to the next State Executive Council to ensure effective service delivery.
“The Governor is hereby urged to be on the lookout for tested and competent hands to bring on board while forming the next State Executive Council for Ekiti to get the best service delivery,” the letter added.
The CNPP emphasized that the machinery of governance must continue without interruption, ensuring good governance and a better standard of living for the people.
Governor Oyebanji’s decision to dissolve the State Executive Council has been seen as a strategic move to reposition his administration ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial primaries scheduled for October 2, 2025, and the June 20, 2026, governorship election.
The Governor has retained key officials, including the Attorney General and Commissioners for Health, Agriculture, Education, Works, and Trade, to maintain continuity in essential services.
