Two new computer driven projects have been launched in Are-Ekiti, with the aim of empowering youths with modern skills and knowledge.
The GOMTECH ICT Centre and the GOMCSS Model Secondary School were unveiled to provide world-class education and opportunities for Ekiti youths, promoters of the project’s Chief promoter Dr Tunji Olowolafe said.
According to the project’s vision, the GOMTECH ICT Centre is designed to establish a network of world-class ICT hubs across Nigeria and Africa.
The 40-seater centre in Are-Ekiti is fully equipped with high-speed internet, 24-hour power, and top-level security. The centre offers practical training in high-demand fields such as IT Support, UX Design, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Project Management. Learners are also introduced to frontier areas like artificial intelligence, blockchain, and quantum computing.
“We have just launched two projects that are very close to my heart: the GOMTECH ICT Centre and the GOMCSS Model Secondary School, both located in Are-Ekiti,” the project’s leader told Irohinodua.
“Our vision for GOMTECH is bold and far-reaching to establish a network of world-class ICT hubs across Nigeria and Africa.”
The GOMCSS Model Secondary School provides a complete learning environment with modern classrooms, super-fast internet, and excellent sporting facilities. The school has been handed over to the Ekiti State Ministry of Education.
“These initiatives are about much more than technology,” the leader added.
“They are about empowering Nigerian youth to succeed today and tomorrow, proving that world-class outcomes are possible no matter your background.”
The projects aim to prepare students for the modern digital economy and provide them with specialized skills and certifications.
Every learner receives a unique email ID, allowing the project team to track and support their journey for years to come.
