As Nigeria marks the second anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, Emirates Logistics, a leading security company, has praised the President and National Security Adviser (NSA) Mallam Nuhu Ribadu for their commitment to prosperity, security, and sustainable development.
In a statement, CEO Prince Dr. Benson Onuwaje acknowledged the complex economic burden inherited by President Tinubu and the significant security challenges faced by NSA Ribadu.
Despite these obstacles, Dr. Onuwaje commended the President’s efforts in laying the foundation for effective growth and development.
“President Tinubu has created fresh and remarkable opportunities for Nigeria,” he said, highlighting notable achievements such as the rapid construction of the Lagos-Calabar Highway, the repayment of over $35 billion debt owed to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the transparent conditional cash transfers to millions of homes in Nigeria.
The CEO also lauded the creation of the Forest Guard initiative, citing its potential impact on tackling terrorism and promoting sustainable development.
“The creation of Forest Guard is one of the greatest interventions in tackling terrorism,” Dr. Onuwaje said.
“It will also have a chain impact on protection of indigenous forests, protection of land and its mineral resources, which would help Nigeria to fight climate change and solidify sustainable development.”
Dr. Onuwaje praised NSA Ribadu’s discipline, moral high ground, and security expertise, describing him as “one of the best NSAs Nigeria ever had.”
He commended Ribadu’s honesty and commitment to resolving disputes amongst oil-producing communities.
Increased oil production in the Niger Delta was cited as a major gain, with Dr. Onuwaje attributing it to the Tinubu administration’s architecture. However, he emphasized the need for more professionals in oil and gas safety to maximize output.
“What we need is to inject more experts and professionals to tackle bunkering and vandalization of oil pipelines,” he said, expressing trust in President Tinubu and NSA Ribadu to address these challenges.
While commending the administration’s efforts, Dr. Onuwaje expressed concern about the high prices of foodstuffs and petrol. “Nigeria needs a price control body to stabilize prices,” he said, urging state and local governments to go into the production of staple foods to improve the well-being of the people.
The CEO also commended the student loan scheme, which covers 550,000 students, saying it would provide access to education for children from poor homes.
“We commend President Tinubu for realizing education’s importance,” he said.
“With the loan, a lot of children from poor homes, who have no access to education, can now benefit from the access to funds in the loan scheme.”
Dr. Onuwaje urged Nigerians to appreciate the administration’s efforts, emphasizing the importance of unity and oneness for peace and stability. “Nigeria needs unity and oneness for peace and stability,” he said, describing the past two years as the best since 1999 in terms of policy direction and radical transformation of Nigeria
