Terrorists, believed to be Fulani, have launched a fresh attack on Isapa community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting 11 residents, including a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, and 10 children.
The incident occurred on Monday evening around 6 pm, when 20 to 30 heavily armed men stormed the town, firing sporadically and leaving multiple bullet holes in walls and doors.
Isapa is few kilometres away from Eruku which was invaded by terrorists two weeks ago leading to the abduction of 38 people.
The abducted were released only on Sunday.
Irohinoodua was informed that the armed men invaded Isapa armed with AK 47
Sources said about 12 people were abducted on Monday evening.
“They were well armed. They stormed the community and were picking children from the streets. They picked a pregnant woman too. For hours they operate but there was no response from the police. We have soldiers stationed some 20 kilometres away, but we received no response” Simeon Ajakaiye told our correspondent.
Independent sources said the terrorists numbered about 30.
He said the terrorists warned residents to vacate the community that they were coming t take it over.
He said “People are already fleeing to Ekiti and Oyo States. We can’t go to the North.”
However, this incident comes on the heels of a similar attack in Eruku, where 38 worshippers were kidnapped from the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) on November 18, 2025.
The Eruku abductees were later released on Sunday, November 23, after a rescue operation led by security forces and government representatives.
The Eruku attack occurred during a church service, where gunmen stormed the premises, firing shots and taking worshippers captive.
The kidnappers, who identified themselves as bandits, boasted about their dominance in the region and claimed no one could escape. Fortunately, all 38 abducted worshippers were freed, thanks to the efforts of President Bola Tinubu and security agencies.
The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, commended President Tinubu for his direct intervention in the rescue operation.
The governor also thanked the security agencies involved, including the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, and the Nigeria Police.
