US Director prostrates to honor Yoruba doctor’s record-breaking achievement

A Yoruba doctor in the United States, Timileyin Oluseyi, has made history.
He won all eight top awards in his medical residency program, a feat never achieved before in the institution’s long standing history. Dr. Oluseyi’s exceptional performance has earned him widespread recognition, with the program director and department chairman paying a unique tribute by prostrating in display ofYoruba culture to honor his greatness.

In a remarkable display of respect, the program director prostrated flat on the floor in traditional Yoruba way, a tradition that holds deep cultural significance in indigenous heritage.

Sources told Irohinoodua that the administrators researched the cultural significance of the act to ensure it was the best way to acknowledge Dr. Oluseyi’s achievement.

“We’ve never seen anything like this. He raised the bar for this program forever,” the chairman said.

Dr. Oluseyi’s success is not limited to his academic prowess; he has also demonstrated exceptional leadership, research skills, and humanistic care, earning him admiration from faculty and peers alike. The school said his achievement serves as a powerful counter-narrative to the often-negative stereotypes surrounding black communities.

His colleagues also showed their admiration in a lighthearted way, jokingly presenting him with a wheelbarrow to carry home all his awards, sparking laughter and joy among attendees.
