Tinubu Ondo LG media boss abducted, police launch manhunt

The Executive Chairman of Ilaje Local Government Council in Ondo State, Mr. Maurice Oripenaye, has strongly condemned the abduction of the Director-General of Asiwaju Media Team, Mr. Emorioloye Owolemi.
The police have also launched extensive operations to arrest the perpetrators.
Owolemi was kidnapped on January 15 at Okonga/Olodo Junction in Igbokoda, Ilaje council area.
Irohinodua was informed that the armed men arrived in two Hilux vehicles and forcefully took Owolemi from his office. His whereabouts remain unknown.
“This act of criminality, carried out in broad daylight in a bustling commercial area, is utterly condemnable and unacceptable,” Oripenaye stated.
“We strongly denounce this reprehensible act and extend our heartfelt solidarity to the family, friends, and associates of Owolemi.”
Oripenaye urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information. He assured that the safety and security of every resident remain his top priority.
The council chairman has initiated contacts with security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and Department of State Services, to ensure a swift response.
“We appeal to security agencies to mobilize all necessary resources to secure Owolemi’s safe release and launch a full-scale investigation,” Oripenaye said.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, stated that a full-scale investigation has commenced. He urged the public to remain calm, assuring that measures are in place to ensure security.
The community is rallying behind Owolemi’s family, calling for his safe release.
