CAN lists 227 students abducted from St Mary catholic schools

A total of 225 pupils were abducted from St Mary Catholic Church in Niger State, the Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) has said.

The devastating attack on St Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools in Papiri, Niger State too place on Friday.

Students and teachers were abducted by suspected terrorists.

Most Rev. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State, confirmed the incident, assuring the public that CAN is working closely with the state government and security agencies to secure the safe release of the abductees.

“We are collaborating with the government and security agencies to ensure their safe release,” said Rev. Yohanna.

“We appeal for calm and prayers as we work tirelessly to rescue the abductees.”

Security forces are currently engaged in rescue operations to bring the situation under control.
