Newsbreak: Bayelsa Governor, 19 Lawmakers quit PDP, decamp to APC

The Governor of Bayelsa State, Tourism Diri has decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC)

The Governor did not only decamp to the APC, he did so with 19 members of the State House of Assembly. The cross carpet took place on Wednesday.

“We have been working on this for a very long time. Now, Bayelsa has gone totally to the ruling APC. Its no more guess work, but the new reality” leader of Supreme Egbesu Assembly, (SEA) Chief Werenipre Digifa told Irohinoodua on Wednesday. Digifa I known to be one of the major non-state actors in Bayelsa State.

He said the party was committed to leaving the PDP for good.

Speaking at the event, the Governor said he left the PDP for the APC in order to ensure greater Federal impact in the lives of the people of Bayelsa.

He said “As you can see, I did not only decamp, I did so with 19 members of the State House of Assembly.”

With the new development, the chances of APC winning the 2027 Presidential election has become even brighter with no fewer than 25 Governors already in the ruling party.
