Newsbreak: Jihadists kidnap Army General, kill four soldiers

Reports reaching Irohinoodua has indicated that a Nigerian Army General has been kidnapped.
Sources said the Army General was ambushed by heavily armed members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
The incidence according to sorces said the ambush was on Friday night.
Reports claimed the General was in a Nigerian military convoy in Borno State, when the armed men
abducted the General.
Many soldiers were said to have been killed in the attack.
The Army General is one of the commanders of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF),
Premium Times earlier claimed that kidnapped “is a brigade commander and was said to be leading the troops.”
Three days ago, the Nigerian Army killed several members of ISWAP operating in Bornu State.
Reports indicated that Troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF), North East Operation Hadin Kai, killed nine members of ISWAP in the bid to free 74 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) after the ISWAP members made futile attempts to abduct them in Borno State. The abduction of the General may not be unconnected with the Nigerian Army renewed vigour to decimate the terrorist group.
The military confirmed that the terrorists were neutralised during an encounter at Yanaga Ari in Mafa Local Government Area. Troops recovered five AK-47 rifles, several rounds of ammunition, and other logistics items from the scene.
