Newsbreak: Terrorists invade Ogun State, Kidnap Chinese

Terrorism has struck in Ogun State. The last major attack was some five years ago when the terorists sacked Yewa communities forcing over 1000 indigenous people to relocate to Benin Republic

In the early hours of today, Irohindua heard that heavily armed terrorists invaded a construction site in Ogun State after which a Chinese expatriate was kidnapped.

Irohinoodua was informed by locals that the invaders were suspected Fulani

“They were heavily armed. Some were in military uniforms They had AK 47” a local source told Irohinoodua.

A security operative who does not wish to be named said the terrorists came about 3am today.

He said “suspected Fulani herdsmen launched an attack on “24 Hours Quarry” located along the Oru-Ijebu–Ijebu-Ode expressway. “

He said the attackers stormed the site, shot sporadically, and abducted a Chinese worker before fleeing into the nearby bush.”

The soure said the Police Area Commander of the Ijebu Division and his team have since arrived at the scene, and security operatives are currently working to ensure the safe rescue of the victim.

Terorists operating in Ogun State are said to be exploiting the agelong Sokoto-Lagos route believed to be the source of their illicit arms movement.

A police official who does not wish to be named told our correspondent that Amotekun have been deployed to the area though he expressed reservations that the terrorists are better armed that the State local security
However, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, deployed the Command’s tactical team—led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations)—to the community. The team operated alongside the Amotekun Corps, So-Safe Corps, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), local hunters and the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) for a comprehensive intelligence-led assessment of the area.
