Terrorists abduct 14 JAMB candidates, others

14 candidates sitting for Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB have been abducted
Many of the victins are teens travelling for the JAMB examinations which comes up once in a year for candidates seeking admission to Nigerian Universities and Polytechnics.
The incidence took place midweek while the students were travelling along Makurdi-Otukpo road in Benue State.
The JAMB candidates were travelling in a Benue Links bus from Makurdi to Otukpo before the terrorists pounced on the vehicle.
Irohinoodua was informed that 18 percengers were in the bus all of who were abducted when the bus was close to Otukpo around 8pm
“They were expected to sit for the examinations on Thursday. They are mainly young people. Boys and girls. The armed men seized them. We are worried. No one is safe. In Benue we already have over 2 million displaced people due to terrorists attacks” a farmer Edward Khasha told Irohinoodua.
The Commissioner of Police in Benue State, Ifeanyi Emenari, has already confirmed the incidence saying that police were working hard to secure their release.
Emenari added that the command had launched an investigation into the matter.
The Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, Maxwell Ogiri expressed worry over the incidence.
He said he was working with the police to secure their release.
