Terrorists kidnap five women in Ekiti, demand 100m

Armed groups have kidnapped five women and two children in Ekiti State.

Few hours after the kidnap, the terrorists asked for 100m ransom

The incidence took place at the weekend at Erinmope in Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti State

Erinmope is a border town between Ekiti and Kwara State.

A source told Irohinoodua that the victims included a pregnant woman and a nursing mother.

“They came around 7.30pm. They were heavily armed. They started shooting into the air for about 30 minutes scaring everybody away. Seems they knew women were more vulnerable. When they noticed most people had ran away, they pounced or the children, a pregnant woman and a nursing mother. They took them away with the child yet to wean,” Micheal Ogundele who live in the town told Irohinoodua.

He said the police Area Commander later came to lead the search for the terrorists.

According to him, the kidnappers later demanded for 100million

Another source said they refused to call family of the victims until 72 hours throwing the family and the while community into suspense.

He gave some of the names of the victims as Kehinde, Adijat, Hawawu and Omodele.

An official of a local government who does not wish to be named told Irohinoodua that the kidnappers were young men. He said they all came with AK 47.

“They were young men. They are Fulani from the way they looked. We are worried about this terrible crime,” he said.

Sources said the police and members of Amotekun Corps are already combing the forest to locate the terrorists.
