Terrorists kill middle aged Ekiti woman, ask for N1.5m to release corpse

A middle-aged woman has been slaughtered by Fulani terrorists in Ekiti State after she was gang raped.

The woman was travelling on a commercial motorcyle between Oke-Ako and Irele Ekiti when armed herdsmen shot at the motorcycle.

Sources said the motorcyclist who is her escaped with gunshots was taken to the Ikole General Hospital by locals.

Sources told Irohinoodua that the Fulani terrorists kept the woman for five days before slaughtering her after she was gang-raped.

The Akogun of Irele Ekiti, Chief Kehinde Abejide told Irohinoodua that the communities are under constant state of siege

“We mourn everyday. It is either one of us has been killed or kidnapped. They shot at the woman and then took her away. We understand she was raped by the terrorists. They later killed her. Now, they are asking for millions of money to release her corpse. This is shameful. It is the height of savagery, ” he said

According to Chief Abejide, farmers in Ekiti hardly go to farms anymore while women are too scared to go to the stream to fetch water. Even hunters, he said are afraid to go hunting in the night.

“We are in a war situation. It has never been this bad. Our community played a key role in the Yoruba wars. This current situation is the worst we have heard or witnessed from accounts of our forefathers. During the Yoruba Kiriji wars, children and women, aged people and pregnant women including the physically challenged were spared. But the Fulani terrorists kill children, slaughter and rape pregnant women,murder old people and the physically challenged are not spared of their horror, while infants are at the mercy of their thirst for blood. Unfortunately, Yoruba political leaders are preparing for elections as people are being slaughtere d,” he said.

At Oke Ako Ekiti, a young man who had gone to farm last Monday was also kidnapped. At at press time, the terrorists were asking for N10million ransom.

He said it was a big shame that Fulani terrorists rape the woman, slaughtered her and then asked for money before they could release her dead body.

At Ido near Ibadan, Irohinoodua has sighted a viral video of a young boy lamenting that her mother was raped and later slaughtered by Fulani terrorists. He said her mother was coming from where she went to dry cassava when the Fulani armed men pounced on her.

“They raped her. Later they slaughtered her with dagger. They are asking us to come with millions of cash to pick her dead body,” the boy said.
