Owa Haastrup appoints Advisory Council, Palace aides to drive Ijesaland development

The Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, His Imperial Majesty, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, has appointed a 15-member Advisory Council, a six-member Private Advisory Team, and six high-profile professionals as Palace Officials.
The appointment takes effect January 1, 2026.
The new appointment is to drive social, cultural and economic development of Ijesaland propelling one of Africa’s most industrious people to reclaim the history of hardwork and commerce Ijesa people are known for.
In a press release made available to Irohinodua on Thursday, the strategic move als9 aims to enhance the effective administration of the Palace and support the Owa Obokun Adimula in implementing his comprehensive development agenda for Ijesaland.
The Advisory Council comprises eminent and accomplished Ijesas who have excelled in various fields, including business, industry, professions, public service, academia, and knowledge-based enterprises.
Notable members include Chief Felix O. Fagbohungbe, SAN, Air Chief Marshal Oluseyi Petinrin (rtd), and Prof. Wale Omole, OFR.
The Owa’s Private Advisory Team includes Oba Hezekaiah Owolola Adimula of Ifewara, Oba Hakeem Ogungbamgbe Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesa, and Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi, FAP, CFR. Meanwhile, the Palace Officials appointed include Lady Modupe Ajayi-Gbadebo as Chief of Staff, High Chief Oladele Disu Omoniyi as Director of Traditional & Chieftaincy Affairs, and Loja Owofade Olabode as Director of Administration.
In his congratulatory message, Owa Haastrup expressed pride in the appointees’ pedigrees and commitment to Ijesaland’s progress, urging them to see their appointments as a call to service.
He emphasized the need for collective effort to make Ijesaland a model among Nigerian communities.
