Ekiti June 20 Poll: No need fixing what is not broken

As Ekiti State gears up for another crucial election, one thing is clear: Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s track record has earned him a second term on a silver platter.
The question on everyone’s lips is, “Why fix what ain’t broken?”
Under Oyebanji’s leadership, Ekiti has seen significant improvements in infrastructure, transforming lives. Education has received a boost, with Oyebanji’s free education policy putting smiles on countless faces. Agriculture is thriving, thanks to initiatives like the Ekiti Agricultural Development Programme, which has made the state a hub for food production.
Some key achievements stand as proof of responsible governance. ₦14.2 billion has been invested in education infrastructure, including 1,415 renovated classrooms and 83 new ones constructed. Oyebanji’s free education policy has benefited 2,816 indigent students receiving conditional cash transfers. Agriculture has received ₦23.6 billion in 2025, with initiatives like the Bring Youth Back into Agriculture Project taking root. Healthcare has seen ₦4.6 million allocated to each of 177 primary health care facilities for upgrade.
Oyebanji’s commitment to these areas has resonated deeply with the masses. Civil servants praise his administration for prompt salary payments and improved working conditions. Pensioners are optimistic about Oyebanji’s commitment to paying their entitlements. Market traders appreciate the governor’s efforts to improve infrastructure and security, while transporters welcome the way Oyebanji is opening up roads, citing reduced travel times and costs.
Farmers benefit from Oyebanji’s agricultural initiatives, like subsidies and farm inputs. Religious leaders appreciate Oyebanji’s neutrality and support for faith-based initiatives, describing him as a unifying force.
Teachers laud the governor’s education policies, including free education and teacher training. Landlords welcome his housing initiatives, citing increased property values. Members of the ruling party are ecstatic about his achievements, assuring that he is a leader who delivers on his promises.
Young people see the governor as a champion of progress, citing job creation and entrepreneurship support. Various women groups unite in their praises of Oyebanji’s empowerment initiatives and healthcare support.
The collective opinion is that Ekiti desires more of Oyebanji’s expertise and vision to take the state to the next level. As the people prepare to head to the polls on June 20, one thing stands clear: they are more than ever united in their love for the incumbent governor continuing his good work. This desire for progress can only translate to a BAO2 landslide victory come June 2026. And such proven leadership, if sustained, can only make the future of the state look brighter than ever.
