Terrorists storm Ondo State, abduct four worshippers in midnight prayers

Armed groups have continued with their terrorist incursion and campaign across Western Nigeria.
In Ondo State, four worshipers were kidnapped during a mid-night prayer session in Uso, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State
The armed men abducted four worshippers during a midnight service organised by Celestial Church of Christ (CCC).
The attack took place on Tuesday night.
The armed group said to be Fulani terrorists raided the church located along the busy Owo/Benin Expressway.
After scaring away the worshippers, they took away the worshippers.
Local sources told Irohinoodua that the four were taking into the dark night and helpless worshippers dispersed in different directions.
“We were in the Church. We started to hear gunshots.The worshippers including women and children ran into the bush. The Fulani armed men appeared branding AK 47. They stormed the Church and took four worshipers away,” Elkanah Abidogun, a native of Uso told Irohinoodua.
He said the confusion was so intense that some members were wounded in the stamped.
Abidogun said six people were abducted but that two of them escaped from captive.
An official of Amotekun who does not wish to be named said because of weak communications, manpower challenges and lack of adequate weapons, Amotekun responses are usually not enough.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Jimoh Abayomi has confirmed the attack.
He said six worshippers were initially taken by the gunmen but that two of them escaped
He said “Upon receiving the report, operatives of the command, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and local vigilante groups, immediately mobilised to the scene and commenced coordinated rescue operations,” he said.
Abayomi said
“Security operations are ongoing to ensure the safe rescue of the remaining victims and the apprehension of all perpetrators involved,” he added.
