Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB claim of honourary Georgian Citizenship is FAKE

Kinsman says KANU is a terrorist
By Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, PhD
Nnamdi Kanu built IPOB solely on misinformation and disinformation, and the only relevance that proscribed terrorist organisation has is obtained through falsehood and hate speeches. It is therefore not surprising that, his brother and the few elements left over in the IPOB are continuing or reigniting the fake news machinery in a bid to resurrect the dead terrorist organisation.
The trending news about the purported conferment of an “honourary citizenship” by the State of Georgia is one of those fake news, which they plant in order to try to gain credibility in the eyes of its many gullible followers and financiers. But, the major reason that Nnamdi Kanu succeeded in inflicting the level of destruction and loss of lives that he inflicted on the Southeast and Igbo land generally, is because we left many of his lies unchallenged.
It is easy, on the face of it, to see the many inconsistencies in the news, which has unfortunately been carried by some lousy and poorly edited newspapers in Nigeria. Let me point out just five of the many reasons why this news is fake.
- The picture of the individual whom IPOB presented as Brad Raffensperger, the Secretary of State of the State of Georgia, is not correct. Brad Raffensperger is a white man, while the person they presented is a black man. Brad Raffensperger’s real picture will be attached to this post.
- Georgia is a State in the United States of America, and the responsibility to confer citizenship is the exclusive preserve of the Federal Government. This is why you see that many States in the United States, especially, those governed by the Democratic Party are at loggerheads with Trump over the enforcement of his sweeping immigration crackdown.
- Kanu has never lived in the State of Georgia and could not have qualified for any such honour, assuming, that a State can actually confer citizenship on anyone. Common sense should tell us that for anyone to qualify to be addressed as an “honourary citizen”, he/she must have lived and contributed to the growth and development of that State.
- Citizenship is not obtained by proxy. Assuming that a State could actually confer any kind of citizenship on any individual, that individual must apply for it themselves, and go through the processes required to obtain the citizenship. However, it must be reiterated that States do not have any such powers.
- Kanu is an international terrorist, and nobody and no responsible organisation would confer its citizenship on a convicted terrorist. Even Britain, where Kanu enjoys full citizenship, has not bothered to as much as utter a word, during his extradition, trial and subsequent conviction, because his crimes are too damning and the evidence presented against him is enormous. If any country would want to show any form of solidarity with Nnamdi Kanu, Britain, would be the first to do that.
Journalists and bloggers must be circumspect in accepting any form of news from these IPOB terrorists and their allies, as they could be held accountable for advancement of terrorist activities through the publication and dissemination of fake news.
