34 killed in fresh Kebbi Terrorist attack

No fewer that 34 people have been killed by terrorists in the North East state of Kebbi.
Sources claim the terrorists also destroyed at least seven villages after storming the area in a night raid in Kebbi state.
The attack took place mid-week
Members of the Lakurawa group are said to be linked with the attacks.
“The pattern of operations is akin to Lakurawa terrorists. They mercilessly kill people. They rape
girls, women some of who they later mary by force” a member of the Vigilante Group, Saheed Alli told Irohinoodua
The Kebbi state police spokesman Bashir Usman said police are working hard to apprehend the criminals.
Other sources said the jihadists had killed “more than 30 villagers” sighting an official document.
One Usman told AFP: “Scores of people were killed as residents from Mamunu, Awasaka, Tungan Tsoho, Makangara, Kanzo, Gorun Naidal, and Dan Mai Ago mobilised to resist the attackers.”
A resident in one of the villages also told AFP that at least 35 people had been killed.
“We were in our homes, we heard gunshots,” said the resident of Kanzo.
“People outside began to run into their shelters, gunshots hit some people,” he added.
Police spokesman Usman said the attackers had also made off with cattle in the raids.
“Police, soldiers and local militia were immediately sent to the area,” he added.
The attacks came days after the state hosted the UNESCO-listed Argungu fishing festival, about 60 kilometres (38 miles) from the Arewa region, where the attacks took place.
The Lakurawa group has been identified as the main terrorist organisation in the area.
The group first came in 2016 then resurfaced in 2018 after imposing taxes and tarrif on farmers and residents.
