Ekiti, Ondo lead highest 2026 JAMB scores

Two citizens of Ekiti and Ondo have emerged as the highest scorers in the 2026 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, [JAMB].

In the release made available to Irohinoodua, JAMB indicated that the top scorers for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), was an indigene of Ekiti State, Owoeye Jesudunsi who scored 372.

Though the candidate hails from Ekiti State, the candidate sat for the examination in Ogun State.

The candidate also picked the University of Lagos [UNILAG], applying as a potential Medical Student.

JAMB made this known at its 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions which held ib Abuja on Monday.

Jesudunsi hit the 372 out of 400 marks to win the trophy as the candidate with the highest-score.

The JAMB registrar Ishaq Oloyede who had spent 10 years and expected to leave after his meritorious service said Jesudunsin applied to study Medicine and Surgery picking the University of Lagos [UNILAG] as her first choice.

In the previous year, the highest scorer hit 375. The winner in 2025 was Chinedu Okeke from Anambra State.

Ikenna Enwere from Imo State came second this year with a score of 370.

He had applied to the University in Abuja to study Computer Science.

This year, 2026, the third highest score went to Ayomide Bamisile of Ondo State.

He scored scored 369 marks.

Bamishile had applies to the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) in Ondo State to study Software Engineering
