Terror herdsmen kidnap 4 in Ekiti demand 2 virgins as ransom

Armed terrorists stormed Ekamarun communities on Friday.

At the end of sporadic shootings, they captured four people. The terrorists called locals demanding that two girls of the same parents be released to them as sex slaves as a condition for the release of the four.

Ekamarun comprising Itapaji, Iyemero, Ipao, Oke-Ako, Irele and Ijowa all in Ajoni Local Government area has seen ceaseless attacks by Fulani terrorists for the past one decade.

When our correspondent visited the communities on Friday, fear and trembling dominate the area.

The Akogun of Irele Ekiti, Chief Abejide Kehinde told oue correspondents that he suspected the terrorists are desperate to have a stronghold in Ekamarun in other to create a lunchpad for incursion to mainstream Yoruba states.

“Im on my way to Ado Ekiti. We can no longet breath. We are under siege despite the Army posts located in our area,” he said.

Irohinoodua was informed that the terrorists had few days ago kidnapped a woman who was travelling on a motorcyle driven by her son.

On encountering the armed Fulani men, they opened fire at the two. The son excaped with gunshots while the middle aged woman was captured and taken away.

Our correspondent was informed that the victim was gang raped by the armed herdsmen leading to her death.

The terror merchants subsequently demanded for N1.5m to release her corpse.

A vigilante official at Oke-Ako said the terrorists had sent a spy among them posing as herdsman to conduct surveillance. He said the terrorists called later saying they saw two girls that were suspected to be virgins and they wanted them.

He said the terrorists later demanded the girls be delivered to them or them would kidnapp as many people as possible.

“They came this Friday looking for our daughters. When they could not find them they kidnapped four people instead. They now want our precious daughters as ranson” Akogub said describing the incident as an affront on Yoruba heritage.

He said the State Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji was doing his best but that there are a lot of constitutional constraints.

“The first point is to have state police. It is only when local people are empowered that they can effectively protect their own people and the treasures on their land” he said

However on Friday afternoon (today) the decayed corpse of the raped victim was retried and brought to the town amidst wailing and cries of locals
