Newsbreak: Terrorists abduct newly wed couple

A newly married couple has been abducted by terrorists.

The ugly incidence took place in Yoruba area of Kogi and Ekiti States at the weekend.

Funmilayo Bamidele and her husband were seized at gun point at along Eruku-Iyemero Road located West of Egbe, a major and historic town in Kogi State.

Iyemero is located about 20 kilometers from Ikole in Ekiti State.

The incidence took place at the weekend.

Sources told Irohinoodua that about five armed men accosted the couple on their way from the wedding.

“They just got married last Saturday. You can imagine a couple spending their honey moon in the den of terrorists,’ a youth leader in Eruku, Abayomi Ajayi told our correspondent.

Sources claim the husband, Rev. Abiodun David is a clergyman.

The couple were returning from their engagement ceremony in Eruku when they were abducted alongside four others at the weekend.

According to information from those familiar with the incident, the vehicle was initially expected to take the Isanlu Road, but the driver chose a shorter route to convey the bridegroom’s bestman to Iyamoye.

The couple and four others were seized on the untarred Iyemero-Eruku Road.

Sources said they were intercepted and ordered to disembark before the armed men carted them away.

As at press time, there has not been any information regarding ransome.
