2027: Tompolo donates 50 vehicles to APC Kano campaign

Prominent Niger Delta leader, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has donated 50 vehicles to the campaign for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf.

Tompolo had earlier launched PBAT Door-to-Door Movement to strengthen its grassroots mobilisation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The vehicles were presented in Kano on Sunday as the movement formally unveiled its structure in the state. The initiative is expected to support political mobilisation across Kano’s 44 local government areas.

Tompolo, who is the founder and convener of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, was represented at the event by Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Emomotimi Guwor.

Guwor said the movement would take its activities directly to communities, with coordinators and representatives expected to operate at ward and polling-unit levels.

He explained that the objective was to engage residents at the grassroots and explain the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration while seeking support for the president’s re-election bid.

Receiving the vehicles, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf said the vehicles would be deployed across the state to assist the movement’s political structures and grassroots activities.

The governor also urged political actors to maintain peaceful and issue-based campaigns as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.

Yusuf said political parties should concentrate on their programmes, records and plans for the people rather than resorting to personal attacks.

The Kano development is part of a wider mobilisation programme by the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement. Earlier in September, the group distributed 34 campaign vehicles in Katsina State and later unveiled vehicles and other campaign materials in Borno State.

The latest donation comes as political groups across the country continue to build grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections, with parties and support organisations increasingly focusing on local government, ward and polling-unit mobilisation.
