Agbugba wins Nigerian British Awards in London

A renowned food and agricultural science expert, Dr. Ikechi Agbugba, has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to science and national development.
The iconic scholar received the award at the De Vere Grand Connaught in London on Saturday.
The Nigerian British Award (NBA) was presented to Agbugba with the Merit Award during its 25th anniversary celebration.
The NBA is a prestigious honor that acknowledges individuals who have made significant impacts in their fields, advancing Nigeria’s progress and fostering a culture of excellence.
Dr. Agbugba’s pioneering work on Brain Re-engineering, a strategy for actualizing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, was cited as a major reason for the award.
As the pioneer of the Brain Re-engineering Initiative, Dr. Agbugba has adapted this strategy for early career academics in food systems research and developed a model for rebranding agriculture and engaging the younger generation in driving economy-wide growth
His work has also focused on transforming youth engagement in disaster risk management and heritage conservation.
Dr. Agbugba’s impressive background includes being an Associate Professor of Agricultural Marketing and an Honorary Associate Professor of Food Chain Security at the University of Birmingham.
He has consulted for the United Nations and received numerous awards for his contributions to agricultural development and peacebuilding.
The Nigerian British Awards signify the highest academic and intellectual recognition, honoring citizens for outstanding contributions to science, arts, humanities, and national development.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Agbugba expressed gratitude to Prince Afolabi Andu, the host and convener of the Nigerian Achievers Awards Institute (NAAI), and the Nigerian British Awards (NBA) for the recognition.
This achievement proofs Dr. Agbugba’s hard work and commitment to making a positive impact in his field.
