Pastor Kumuyi debunks reports that counters Trump’s statement on alleged Christian genocide

By Samuel Ogunsona

The Deeper Life Christian (DLC), Ministry has strongly condemned a viral report falsely claiming that Pastor William Kumuyi accused the United States of attempting to steal Nigeria’s natural resources.

The report also claimed Kumuyi denied the existence of Christian genocide in the country.

In a statement released on Monday, the church described the report as “malicious and entirely false” and “the figment of the imagination of its authors.”

According to the Ministry, Pastor Kumuyi did not address a press conference or make such statements in Lagos, as he has been away from Nigeria, holding gospel programs in the Oceania region and the Far East.

“Pastor Kumuyi did not at any time address a press conference or make the aforementioned statement in Lagos,” the statement read.

“He has been away from Nigeria for a considerable length of time, holding programmes in the Oceania region and the Far East.”

The church emphasized Pastor Kumuyi’s focus on preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, stating that he “does not dabble into politics, as the false story mentioned above seemed to suggest.”

The ministry warned those attempting to drag its General Superintendent into politics or fabricating stories in his name to desist, cautioning that future infractions may attract action.

“The Ministry warns all those bent on mischief by seeking to drag our General Superintendent into politics, or fabricating stories in his name, to desist from such venture. In the future, any such activity may attract action”
