Terrorist kidnap over 30 in Ayegunle Yoruba town in Kogi

Terrorists have again struct in Yoruba territory. This time in Bunu area of Kogi State.

They seized over 30 people including women and children in Ayegunle, Bunu Yoruba area of Kogi State.

Sources said the armed terrorists stormed the area around 2am on Monday morning.

“We are mourning. We are not even certain how many people were taken. Some were seized in their bedroom,” Olajide Akinola, a farmer in Bunu told Irohinoodua

The attack took place amidst nuclear settlements of police check points, sources told Irohinoodua.

Our correspondent was informed that the armed me came in the early hours seizing the children, women and the aged as if picking fowls.

Another source said the terrorists also seized a night bus conveying traders.

There was no reported resistance neither did the security respond to the people’s distress.

The President announced the setting up of 1000 Forest Guards to tackle insecurity.

46 students and teachers were kidnapped in Isiele Community School. At at press time, the captives are yet to be released, leaving them to sleep on barefloor, day and night, cold and wind, sun and rain.

Some of the children are barely two to three years old.

The latest kidnap took place in Ayegunle Bunu community in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

A security operative who does not wish to be named said the terrorists move from house to house gaining entry through windows or blowing up the doors of their victims

Many were said to have woken up running into the bush

The incidence has thrown residents into panic with many fleeing their ancestral communities.

At least, one person was killed in the latest attack on the Yoruba community.
