Terrorist kill 42 in Niger State

No fewer than 40 people have been killed by terrorists in a renewed attack by terrorists in Niger-State on Saturday night.
Irohinoodua was informed that the terrorists also abducted tens of locals.
Among those killed were women and children, sources told our correspondent.
The terrorists unleashed violence on Agwarra in Niger State a gory attack that lasted for hours.
The attackers had killed 37 people in Kasuwa Daji near Papiri. They killed five in Kaima village while many were abducted in the bloody attacks.
A local official said “The government and security agencies should come to our aid.
“We have a serious crisis across the river where the students were abducted.
“They came out of the forest for about a week now, wreaking havoc in the villages.
“Just yesterday (Saturday) alone, they burnt one particular market and abducted so many people, including children.”
The Catholic Mission House, the Director of Communications, Catholic Church of Kontagora Diocese, Rev. Father Stephen Kabirat, confirmed that the terrorists have taken more 40 human lives persons and while unspecified number of people were kidnapped.
Kabirat said “Our Parish Priest narrowly escaped abduction when the terrorists visited our Mission House three days ago.
“They destroyed some religious items in the church, carted away two motorbikes and cash worth over N200,000.
“They were looking for the priest, luckily he escaped, but they abducted some villagers including children.”
Another villager said “As I am talking to you, some of the villages where the abducted schoolchildren come from have been sleeping in the bushes since their return because of the activities of the terrorists.”
The Niger State Police Command confirmed the attack took place around 9pm on Saturday.
The police said they received distress calls late.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer and a Superintendent of Police, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said: “At about 4:30pm on Saturday, suspected bandits from the National Park Forest along Kabe District invaded Kasuwan Daji located at Demo Village via Kabe, killed over 30 persons, burnt the market and looted shops and carted away food items.”
Abiodun said a joint security team visited the scenem
He said “Further development will be communicated please.”
