The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has left the New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP).

21 lawmakers being members of the State House of Assembly, eight members of the House of Representatives and 44 local government chairmen in the state also joined the Governor.
The Governor announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the Chairman of the NNPP in his wars.
Yusuf is from Diso-Chiranchi Ward of the NNPP in Gwale Local Government Area
The resignation is believed to be a prelude to his joining the ruling All Progressives Congress,(APC).
Few days ago, Yusuf met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in a closed door encounter.
He did not grant press interviews after the meeting.
Kano has the highest number of voters in Nigeria after Lagos.
With the new development, the APC may have further consolidated its stronghold in the North West ahead of the Presidential elections expected either this year in November of latest February next year.
A source in Kano told Irohinoodua that the Kano elected leaders under the NNPP are set to formally decamp to the APC swelling the chances of the party coasting home to victory in Kano.
