Osinbajo express worry over chemical-laced fruits in Nigeria

Former Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has expressed concerns over health hazards associated with fruits and food items in Nigeria. Osinbajo says a personal health scare in his home exposed how dangerous chemicals are entering the food Nigerians eat every day.
Speaking at the Open Day for Gardeners’ Seminar in Lagos recently on the theme “Leaving the Earth Better Than We Found It,” Osinbajo narrated how his wife Dolapo started having unexplained health issues after her routine of a glass of fresh orange juice. The oranges were later found to contain harmful chemicals. Irohinoodua was informed separately by experts that food items like beans, rice, yam, fruits like oranges, cucumber are all exposed to dangerous chemicals raising concerns about the efficacy of regulatory bodies.
