Newsbreak: Terrorists abduct Major General, wife in Katsina

Armed men have abducted the former Army Director Of Defence Information, Major Rabe Gen Abubakar [rtd].
Reports made available to Irohinoodua indicated that his wife was also abducted by the armed men.
The source hinted Irohinoodua that his military aide may have been kidnapped by the terrorists.
The incidence took place this weekend along Matazu local government as the couple drove to Katsina, the North West State.
Katsina is one of the hotbeds of insurgents and a theatre of armed conflict between Fulani and Hausa ethnic groups.
Other accounts claimed his driver was shot but still managed to excape from the terrorists. A local source said the driver was shot.
Irohinoodua was informed that the couple was travelling in a Peugeot 504.
Local sources said police moved in to engage the terrorists who had fled before arrival of officials of the State Police Command.
The police were said tl have recovered the car which is now packed at the Police Force Matazu Division.
Abubakar was born on April 7, 1965. He hails from Batsari local government area of Katsina state. On completion of his secondary education,
Major General Abubakar was born in Katsina Commissioned into the Nigerian Army as a Second Lieutenant in 1989. He also attended professional courses, including the Company Amphibious Course and a strategic program at the National Defence College in China.
