Newsbreak: US bombs terrorists’ hideouts in Nigeria, many killed

The United States President Donald Trump took a decisive step on Christmas day bombing terrorist hideout in Nigeria.

The US Government chose the seat of the caliphate, Sokoto to demonstrate its commitment to eradicating terrorism in Nigeria.

Irohinoodua was informed that US B2 bombers may have been deployed in the midnight attack.
The United States of America has launched a deadly attack on terrorists in Nigeria. In a statement the Alliance for Yoruba Democratic Movement, (AYDM) praised the action of the US President. The AYDM is the coalition of 130 Pan Yoruba groups. It said in a statement that the action of President Trump has replaced “despair with hope.”

“We celebrate today the attack on one of the axis of terror in Nigeria, that is Sokoto. The US attacks has brought relief to many hitherto hopeless Nigerians who are held captive by siege, trembling and fear perpetrated by Islamic terrorists across the country,,” Popoola Ajayi, Arogundade Rasaq and Ibrahim Olukoye who signed the statement noted. AYDM said the terror group wants to impose a extremist ideology on Nigerians, a plural country with multiple faith.

President Donal Trump confirmed the attack in his Truth Social platform.

The US Africa Command in a post on X said the attack was carried out in Sokoto State.

US Africa Command said it struck and killed multiple terrorists who are members of the Africa branch of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

The group, Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) operates in Northwest and North East Nigeria.

“At the direction of the President of the United States and the Secretary of War, and in coordination with Nigerian authorities, U.S. Africa Command conducted strikes against ISIS terrorists in Nigeria on December 25, 2025, in Sokoto State,” the post by the US Africa Command read.

Earlier, President Trump had said that “Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even Centuries!

He said he had have previously warned the Terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay, and tonight, there was.

“The Department of War executed numerous perfect strikes, as only the United States is capable of doing.

“Under my leadership, our Country will not allow Radical Islamic Terrorism to prosper.

“May God Bless our Military, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all, including the dead Terrorists, of which there will be many more if their slaughter of Christians continues.”

The US Defence Secretary, Pete Hegseth also in a separate post on X (formerly Twitter) states that the President, Donald Trump was clear last month that killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria (and elsewhere) must end.

The US Government said it wad grateful for Nigerian government support for the support and cooperation while wishing Nigerians happy Christmas.

Irohinoodua is uncertain what would be the reaction of the terrorists group but certainly, a devastating blow has been dealth to the terrorists, something that may open a new chapter of global interests in Nigerian increasing terrorists operations in Nigeria.
