Atiku promises to defend Yoruba interests if elected

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has vowed to prioritize the interests of the Yoruba people if elected President in 2027.
In a statement made available to Irohinodua, Atiku dismissed concerns about potential Hausa/Fulani domination under his leadership, citing his personal connections to the Yoruba Nation.
“The entire Yoruba stock is my larger extended family and in-laws,” Atiku emphasized, highlighting his marriage to a Yoruba woman from Ijesha. They are blessed with four children.
Atiku assured that the South-West region would be central to his policymaking, stating, “The interest of the Yorubas will always occupy a topmost place in my policymaking and governance if, by the special Grace of Allah, I am lucky to be president in 2027.”
He attributed his detribalized nature to his ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, saying, “I am naturally a highly detribalised person…
“I flowed easily and effortlessly with people of diverse tribes, ethnicity, religion and whatever sectarian differences.”
