Olubadan bans open grazing, warns violators

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja, has said herders are not allowed to graze anymore in Ibadan.
The Oba described the practice as “illegal, prohibited, and unacceptable.”, emphasizing that violators will be prosecuted.
Our members are being attacked, our children endangered, our wives assaulted, and our farmlands destroyed..
According to NAN, the monarch made this statement after meeting with members of a farm settlers association, who complained about repeated attacks from herders.
“Any person caught disobeying the Oyo state law that forbids open cattle grazing will be arrested and prosecuted in a court of law
“We will not fold our arms and watch herdsmen kill farmers, attack their children, assault their wives, and destroy their farms, which are their means of livelihood.” the Oba said.
