Ondo Amotekun arrest armed bandits from the North with 500 guns, several daggers

Some armed bandits have invaded Ondo State with no fewer than 500 guns and hundreds of daggers.

The men from the Northern parts of the country had escaped several checkpoints before they were interested by Eagle eyes Amotekun corps in Ondo State.

Amotekun officials said the 18 persons had 500 guns and daggers concealed kept in containing tigger nuts.

Mr Olabode Olatunde an aide of the State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu said t “Operatives of the Amotekun Corps in Ondo State have intercepted a bus loaded with 500 pieces of daggers concealed under the seats.

He said further that “18 people suspected to be bandits were arrested with the vehicle while two buses escaped

The suspects were parade in Akure, the state capital on Friday.

The Commander, Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, said three buses escaped arrests posing danger to the entire South West area.

The mission if the armed men and the 500 guns and daggers remain unknown.
