Super Eagles soar to round of 16 with thrilling 3-2 win over Tunisia

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have secured a spot in the Round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco after a 3-2 victory over Tunisia in their second Group C match.

The match took place on Saturday, December 27, 2025.

Victor Osimhen opened the scoring for Nigeria with a header in the first half, before Wilfred Ndidi doubled the lead with another header in the second half.

Ademola Lookman sealed the win with a third goal.

Tunisia mounted a late comeback with goals from Montassar Talbi and Ali Abdi, but Nigeria held firm to claim all three points.

The Super Eagles’ victory sets up an intriguing final group match against Uganda, scheduled for Tuesday, December 30.

Nigeria has confirmed their qualification for the knockout stage, and fans are optimistic about their chances in the tournament.
